Spéracèdes is located in the Alpes-Maritimes. Built on a hillside facing south, this small village is inhabited by about 1,300 people.
Located in the hinterland of Grasse, Spéracèdes is one of the 5 communes, which also includes Cabris, Le Tignet, Peymeinade and Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne.
In the past, the village was dependent on Cabris, where the lords built their castles.
In order to be recognised as a commune, Spéracèdes had to have a church, so at the beginning of the 20th century, the village and all its inhabitants built the church.
The inscription on the pediment of the church reads "This church was built by all the inhabitants of Spéracèdes in 1840".
The village is also popular for its panoramic view of the sea and the Lérins islands, the hills of the Estérel and the lake of Saint Cassien. It is also possible to admire this panorama from the many viewpoints and especially from the Cross of Spéracèdes, the highest viewpoint in the commune.
Spéracèdes is a typical southern village with pastel-coloured facades, olive-green shutters, century-old olive trees and numerous Mediterranean species that flower the typical restanques of the country.
Spéracèdes has welcomed many artists and personalities such as Serge Gainsbourg, the painter Emmanuel Bellini, Max Gallo and many others.
A visit to the Baussy Mill is a must see when you visite Spéracèdes. In its shop, you will discover the smell of lavender, the taste of the tapenade and of course you can have a bottle of Spéracèdes olive oil. The Baussy Mill also allows you to make your own oil by harvesting the olives from your garden.
After walking through the small streets of the village, do not hesitate to stop for lunch or to have a drink at the Café de L'Union located on the village square. This restaurant offers typical Mediterranean and Provencal cuisine on a terrace providing a nice panoramic view.
And to finish your visit of the village, we would be very glad to meet you in our real estate agency « Spéracedès immobilier » located in the main street, between the church and the village place.
